VISA for Starting a business and employing oneself ⭐

Invest 500,000 TWD to set up a limited company.
Foreigners must own over 1/3 of the total capital of the company.
Applicant must register as company manager to apply for a working visa.
Initially, applicant will get 1~3 year residency that can be renewed 4 months before the deadline, and company must have 3,000,000 revenue in previous 12 months.
Spouse and minor children (under 18 years old) can apply for dependent residency.

INVESTOR VISA ⭐
Invest 200,000 USD to a new set up company or an existing company.
The investor must register as a company director.
Initially, applicant will get 1~3 year residency, can be renewed one month before the deadline.
Continually stay in Taiwan over 183 days a year for 5 years, may apply for permanent residency or naturalization.
WORK VISA
Employment as a manager of limited company or branch:
Qualification of foreigner à 18 years old.
Qualification of the company àat least 1/3 of capital is owned by foreigners.
company setup less than one year: Capital not less than TWD 500,000 TWD
company setup over one year: revenue over 3,000,000 TWD in pass 12 month or previous year.
Qualification of minimum salary: TWD 24,000 per month.

Extend: Company must have 3,000,000 TWD revenue in last year or average in last 3 years. will get 24~36 months’ extension.

Intended for people working in a Taiwan representative office for a foreign company.
Applicant must register as a representative person, can apply for working residency.

Applicant can freely work for any employer without other permission, even work for self.
Initially, applicant will get 1 ~ 3 years of residency every time and can apply for an extension of 1 ~ 3 years if qualified.
Spouse / minor children (under 18 years old) / handicapped children (over 18 years old) can apply for dependent residency.

Tax benefit with conditions for Gold Card Holder:
Conditions：
- Has been approved for the first time to reside in Taiwan for the purpose of work.
- Does not have Taiwan household registration in a fiscal year before 5 years.
- Does not resident in Taiwan over 183 days in a fiscal year before 5 years.
- Has engaged in professional work related to special expertise recognized by the relevant central competent authority in Taiwan.
- Stay in Taiwan over 183 days in the fiscal year.
- Professional working salary income from Taiwan employer over 3,000,000 TWD.
Tax Benefit：
- The part of salary income over 3,000,000 TWD is 50% tax-free.
- Overseas income is all tax-free.

Entrepreneur Visa
Individuals or groups (with a maximum of three members) can apply for a two-year visa.
Initially, you will get 2-year residency, must set up a company.
Condition of extend: revenues exceeding NT$3 million, expenditure exceeding NT$1 million, or employing three full-time Taiwanese employees.
Continually stay in Taiwan over 183 days a year for 5 years, may apply for permanent residency or naturalization.
Employment seeking visa
Graduated within the past year from any of the world’s top 500 universities as listed by the ROC Ministry of Education, and not yet employed. This visa is also intended for those who pursed an undergraduate, Master or PhD program in Taiwan. It is a six-month visa and can be extended up to one year.
Change to working visa after obtaining a formal job.
Studying Chinese Purpose
Applicants who have entered the R.O.C. (Taiwan) on a Visitor Visa with an annotation indicating studying Chinese as the purpose of visit, have completed 4 months of study, have registered for continued study for at least another 3 months, may apply to the National Immigration Agency for residence and obtain an Alien Resident Certificate.
Bank statements or records of remittance provided by the applicant or his/her relatives within the third degree of kinship (grandparents, parents and siblings).
Study in Taiwan
OVERSEAS CHINESE STUDENTS WHO, AFTER HAVING ARRIVED IN THE R.O.C. (TAIWAN), ARE INDIVIDUALLY ASSIGNED TO HIGH SCHOOLS AND BELOW BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION OR COUNTY/CITY BUREAU OF EDUCATION. Overseas chinese students who, while still remaining outside of the R.O.C. (Taiwan), are jointly assigned to universities/colleges, vocational schools or high schools and below by the ministry of education of the university entrance committee for overseas chinese students.

MEDICAL TREATMENT VISA
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Foreigners who require urgent medical treatment
- Accompanying family dependents should be applicant’s supouse or relatives within third degree of relationship; not more than 2 people.

RELIGIOUS WORK
The applicant must have an official position as religious personnel such as Pastor, Father, Brother, Sister, Monk, Nun, Imam, etc. If a certificate cannot be provided, senior management must provide evidence that the applicant works in the organization.
Certificate must have the applicant’s name, nationality, religion, date of affiliation and prove the applicant’s capacity as a religious worker at the time of application.
Buddhist monks and nuns must also present the original and a photocopy of the voting certificate.
The religious organization must be legally registered in Taiwan.
Letter of Invitation:
Proof that the inviting organization is a legally registered, non-profit and properly operational entity.
